I just updated bbPress to 2.1.1 and now the buddypress components like members and groups are not showing up on my site. Is there something I can do to get those functions working again?

Don’t see any obvious reason there would be any conflict. There isn’t over on testbp.org. Most likely something with the theme isn’t cooperating.
