For my records: great theme for forums with photos Destin Basic
All of the elements of the forum are there, the breadcrumb nav is correct and works, the forum layouts are excellent. A bbPress ready theme that actually works out of the box.
In reply to: No content or access to edit top level “Forums” pageThis is odd, but stellar! Recently I still had problems with the main forum page. Both in my theme and 2015 theme. It was in the breadcrumb nav, finally, I don’t know why. There was no page generated for it in the Menu. Now it’s there. The final issue was that shortcode was not rendering on that page, I wanted the forum index there. Today it all works!
Everything is awesome! Maybe there was an update?

(The site http://toni-esl.com/eslforum/)In reply to: Define WP theme is bbPress ready/compatible?Okay. I need to carefully process that info. (I’ve been wrestling with WP site issues, my brain has almost bricked.) 🙂
I appreciate the clear explanation, big time.
Thank you
In reply to: No content or access to edit top level “Forums” pageExcellent! I will read it too.
Thank you.
In reply to: No content or access to edit top level “Forums” pageGee, this has happened again. I keep forgetting what I am doing.
I had a page with shortcode, then I changed the page name and slug. Now I have a generated page without content.
In reply to: Define WP theme is bbPress ready/compatible?Oops, to continue…those mystery pages I mentioned from the breadcrumb are usually blank. And they fall at the top level of the breadcrumb nav hierarchy – the first or second item.
When I first installed bbPress I had 2 forum entries in the breadcrumb – Forums/forums/… the first one (I think it was the first menu item) had nothing on it.
In reply to: Define WP theme is bbPress ready/compatible?Can you please explain exactly why some things might not understandable so I can help you better??
I barely remember the other instances. In general, the changes I notice are with the breadcrumb menu and the pages each link in the breadcrumb goes to. Sometimes there are pages in that breadcrumb that I cannot edit – there is no admin edit feature available, there are pages I cannot add via the WP Edit Menu – they do not show up as pages in that Edit Menu section.
In reply to: Define WP theme is bbPress ready/compatible?Outstanding!!! So much more than I had expected.
This makes such a huge difference for me. I greatly appreciate the time and careful effort to thoroughly explain this all for me so clearly. This will help me get to a new level in Things WordPress.
Thank you
Cheers! In reply to: Define WP theme is bbPress ready/compatible?Ah, okay I managed to change the title of the Archives page for theme Ample.
Easy!Anyway, question still stands please.
In reply to: No content or access to edit top level “Forums” pageIn reply to: No content or access to edit top level “Forums” pageThe “Forums” page lists all the topics – not the Forums, is that normal?
http://toni-esl.com/eslforum/write/I can create a page and use a shortcode to list Forums.
Thank you so much for your help!
In reply to: No content or access to edit top level “Forums” pageHi,
It has always been like that since I installed months ago. I can do a 2014 theme – I don’t remember what happened when I did it before.POST 2015 THEME CHANGE:
It looks like the page is there. So sorry! How do I know which themes I can use? I tried to find a list or something. I have not had success – just vague info.
In reply to: Desire forum, but no blog site comment abilityI installed bbPress as a plugin, so I have a WP blog I do not want commented.
The documentation is easy to understand, but difficult to navigate/search for me.Thank you very much.

In reply to: How to start?Because of the intructions I got from the forum – I knew what to look for and found this:
So I have now The Shortcode. I don’t want to even read the “other” method in detail.
My opinion: I don’t understand why this set-up must be so laborious. In reply to: Forum landing page link in site menu – how?Somehow the menu is in order this time. And…
I found what you were explaining to me, and the shortcode (what I was searching for):
Thanks again, I knew exactly what to look for this time.
In reply to: Forum landing page link in site menu – how?Oh, I have reinstalled bbPress to try again. Now my set-up is different. I will start a new thread.
In reply to: Site login plugin and bbPress accessOkay. I think my question is not possible, and perhaps makes no sense? Oops. Again – stupid post.
In reply to: Forum landing page link in site menu – how?Wait – what is the shortcode? I know how to use them – but I don’t know them.
In reply to: How to start? Also – I had to get instruction from the forum about the purpose and what to do with the /forums/ page that is blank. I still have not found the shortcode.

Odd that it takes a couple of links to get there.
In reply to: How to start?Okay – I don’t know why it took so long for me to find the steps. Sorry for a ridiculous thread.
