WangGuard actually will ONLY work with 2.x versions of bbPress, so you’ll be fine to use it. It won’t work with the standalone versions.
To install it you would just install it as though you were doing any other WordPress plugins, go to your admin panel, plugins section, and install.

What version of bbPress? If it’s 2.x then what you need is this plugin for wordpress:

I currently have it installed on WordPress 3.3.1 and bbPress 2.0.2 with no problems.
Thanks a lot, yeah I figured that out. I was confused between the 1.x and 2.x versions. Then I realised the 2.x version is basically a completely new thing that just kept the name, and is no longer stand alone.
Just finding that 2.x needs more plugins!

OAEErra, it is my understanding that you can’t install any plugins on BP’s built in forum system. So you’d lose many other abilities if you choose to port it over there.
As noobish as it sounds, how the heck do you get to the admin area of the bbpress 2.0.2 plugin to install other plugins on it then?
I would love an answer to this too.
