    Sounds like great news Gautam.

I´m gonna have to need a bit more information though.

Do you have a demo of this?

And how is the customization options in the dashboard? Cause that´s what makes the Mystique theme great.

Can you for instance have sidebar now?

Basically you´re saying that BBPress is over after 1.1 as a standalone product?

What I want to know is: Will I be able to carry my current installation over to the new plugin version? With all users and posts intact?

They all kinda look exactly the same, all but for the colors.

Aren´t there some new great themers out there who does magical things?

For WordPress you have some absolutely kickass themers, like GraphPaperPress and Digital Nature.

I´ve proven it enough times already. Not my fault you´re not informed properly.

Just trust my judgements of Akismet, several people experiences the exact same thing, so it´s a known problem.

    You just got pwnd Pedley.

_CK_ SHould I be using Human test or recaptcha now?

I can confirm that recaptcha almost prevented spammer completely, but I´ve had some spammers register still. Only a small percentage of what was before though.

Somehow, even though their IP, name and email already exist in the databases for StopForumSpam and Project HoneyPot – they still manage to get through.

John James Jacoby yes it is true.

I wouldn´t say it if I had not experienced it.

Akismet was made for blogging, and BBpress is not blogging.

Akisment for BBpress will delete posts by normal people. And it won´t let you do anything about it. Infact, it won´t show you exactly what is deleting at all. It just keeps deleting stuff in its own, and keeps the keymaster in the dark.

This made me especially angry when I managed to find out, that infact all Akismet had deleted, was normal posts. And not a single valid spam.

    So please stop reccomending this.

If you have several thousands of members in your bbpress installation, you might accept losing a few posts. But if you´re trying to build a community, you must learn to value each post, each member makes.

Don´t listen to anyone reccomending Akisment for BBpress.

It´s messed up, and not made for forums. Don´t use it.

Solution = reCaptcha + Noforumspam + Project Honeypot

Human test is not good enough no more.

This EXACT question and problem has been raised many times here the last months.

The best answer I can give you, which worked for me, is to combine Project Honey Pot, No Forum Spam, and reCaptcha.

Disable Human Test when using those three.

So is anybody attempting to make this theme? Please do.

´Did I miss something then? looks fairly ordinary to me.´

Then yes you did miss something.

A troublesome trend in internet design these days, is that everything looks so square.

Everything takes the form of squares, because that makes most sense, both codingwise and when it comes to image formats.

This comment form however, challenges this trend by having avatars round. And goes further by having them float assymetrically on the Y-axis, as opposed to the avatars on this very forum for instance – where all avatars and name boxes are on the same line.

Combining this assymetry with round pictures, is innovative and unusual. That little line from each picture, going into the users message, connotates to speech bubbles seen in comics.

That functionality is made for young kids because it´s easy to understand who says what. But still this CSS-tricks has avoided in looking like a comic website, and kept the minemalistic color theme, and vague contrasting colors, and has a modern look to it with the border radius boxes.

There is a plugin called exactly that. “Mass delete users”

It will get the job done, but it fucks up alot later, so delete the bots, and get protection.

Recaptcha worked for me. Despite how ugly it is.

I run Honey Pot + Nospamuser + recaptcha. Have not had any spambots registering since.

´No, Akismet was designed to catch SPAM, anything from comments (blog/site) to posts/thread on a forum (bbPress), they’re all the same! :)´

Are you here just to annoy me?

No, Akismet is designed for blogs, not for forums. Which is why I don´t use it for my forum, but for my blog.
