In reply to: Using sessions with bbpress
Hello zaerl
Thanks for your response. Making the sessions won’t be a problem. Which files to edit is.
Could you tell me which ones to edit please?
Many thanks
In reply to: Make a new login pageThanks again zaerl, I’ll give it a try.
Thanks for your time
In reply to: Make a new login pageThanks zaerl
I tried what you suggested and it just brought up the bbpress login page – not the front page, the login page.
What I want is just two text fields and a button to log me in. I don’t want to see anything else on the page.
Is it possible? If it is how do I do it?
Thanks

In reply to: Where are cookies set? Thanks Ben L.
I’ll take a look at them. I want to use ‘my’ login system control both my website and bbpress so my members only have to login once.
My system is not any known cms like drupal or wp. It’s just a php site that I made.
Any more ideas that could help with this type of integration?
If not, thanks a lot for your input on this.
Cheers
In reply to: Does bbpress use sessions for anything? Thanks very much for the input _ck_
In reply to: Password Protection Method – bbpress? Thanks zaerl, I’ll take a look at it now.
In reply to: Password Protection Method – bbpress? Thanks zaerl. However, what I meant was where is the code that converts the ‘raw’ password into the md5 hash. I know where it stores the hased password.
Sorry for the confusion.
In reply to: Drop-down list for Sub-Forums?Thanks zaerl, I’ll have a look at it.

In reply to: Integrating registration and login with my siteHello Kevin
Thanks for your reply. I’m not using WP, but I think I get your point. At the moment, I can register new members through ‘my’ admin, and it saves the details to my database ‘and’ bbpress.
But as you are more than aware, for various reasons, when a new student logs in to bbpress, they are registered as ‘inactive’.
I’ve not started working on a single login point from ‘my’ site yet.
I will try to tinker with what you have said and get back to you on my success (or failure).
Thanks for your input – I’ll get to work on it.
In reply to: Locking forum and hiding from websearcheswill your plugin hide topics, tags, titles and posts from google etc?
In reply to: Locking forum and hiding from websearchesHello zaerl
Thank you for responding. At the moment I am unable to test your plugin. However, I think I may be able to test it in a few days.
Could you provide me with code so I could code it directly without using a plugin? I would prefer to use coding myself if possible to give me a better understanding of what I am doing.
Many thanks
In reply to: Locking forum and hiding from websearchesOnce again, thank you Mr Pelle. That worked fine. I will have to try zaerl-visibility when I get my production online for testing.
Thanks for all your very useful input
In reply to: Locking forum and hiding from websearchesThanks Mr Pelle, I’m using swirl on a local server at the moment and it is working very well.
I would like to integrate it without the use of the plugin. Could you help me to do that please?
Thanks in advance
In reply to: Locking forum and hiding from websearchesSorry, all is working now.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
Thanks
In reply to: Locking forum and hiding from websearchesDo I set the new swirl page in the swirl-unknowns.php page?
If so, where do I change the page?
In reply to: Locking forum and hiding from websearchesThanks for the input, I’m going to give them a try asap.
My reason for hidden content is because I’m planning a members only elearning site. Nothing dodgy.
Many thanks
