In reply to: BBPRESS on my USB webserver!
This problem sounds very familiar. You will have to excuse me, for it’s been a long while since I’ve toyed with bbpress…. BUT i’m pretty sure when I experienced this same problem, it was related to the password. I too had it blank, but for some reason the setup process doesn’t like “blank” passwords.
I would suggest maybe creating a SQL user, with a password, and see if that resolves your problem.
Run a search for key_master. Some1 had deleted theirs, and another user provided a key to add in wp_usermeta.
Well, I was having those other problems, in my last thread.
I activated the mod_rewrite in Apache,
changed $bb->domain = ‘http://localhost’;
and $bb->path = ‘/blog/forums/’;
I had made the key_master “admin” which was same as my wordpress, which was a problem, but I fixed by altering the wp_usermeta as specified in another thread.
I believe that was it…. beside create a my-templates folder, and create a copy of the default one.
In reply to: Forum works….links don’tGot it to work guys! Thanks!
In reply to: BBPress on XAMPP – ‘page isn’t redirecting properly’MAN….. see what searchin does? Fixed my problem too! Thx!
In reply to: localhost installsGREAT!! Thx!
In reply to: Forum works….links don’tI’m thinking it might have to do with the Apache modules. By default mod_rewrite wasn’t activated, I recently discovered. Any1 know of any other mods crucial for the bbPres to work?
In reply to: Forum works….links don’tYour right about the CSS, some reason it was “http://localhostblogforums/…..” That was the main page.
Not sure how the slashes turned like that….
I don’t care for the permalinks honestly, least of my worries, rather get this forum working first!
So….any other takers?
