Ahh man. I guess I hope that’s the case, but feel really silly if it is.
However, Is it normal for a user with Admin WP role to not be able to change his own forum role from Blocked to anything else?

By default the avatars are tied to your email address through gravatar.
Go to http://en.gravatar.com/ and register with your email address then upload a picture.
