In reply to: disable front end editing
also the private message plugin utilizes the backend, not sure if it can be used on the front end.
In reply to: disable front end editingWell, the easiest way is to let me walk you through it.
1. Go to the website http://www.astronomertalk.com.
2. Log in. 1 click registration
3. go to top left and hover mouse over name.
4. On open down menu click edit my profile.
5. your on the backend.too access your profile on the front end,
1. make a post or reply
2. click your name from there.
3. your on the front end.The reason I want to disable on of them is because obviously we do not need two. I am ok with disabling back end, but I would like to fix the update profile button which you will see is messed up.
Best,
JBIn reply to: disable front end editingwell, the reason, is because when one tries to click edit my profile, it goes to the backend. is there a way to get that to go to the front end?
In reply to: Hide author/adminit works, ok thank guys. well done.
In reply to: Hide author/adminI think the first fix works. Would you recommend just leaving it, or changing it up.
In reply to: Hide author/admin*do
In reply to: Hide author/adminHow would I so that?
In reply to: The BBpress Support Forums Do Not Work…I think we agree here. Non of what you said I do not agree with.
In regards to it being useless, once again I support what everyone does here, I am just saying in the long run, they do not do that well.
In reply to: The BBpress Support Forums Do Not Work…Ok guys, once again this is not a complaint. This is what I have viewed over the course of my time using the support forum.
Let me clear some stuff up for everyone.
#1, no ones work here is bad.
Now, I intend for this to stay a factual discussion.
#1, I have never gotten my answers ever answered within an hour. Most are never answered. Once again, I am not saying I have a problem with the timeliness, I am saying that anyone who wants/has a big forum could never rely on the support forums.
#2, Sure, there are many things that I get for free. How about every other forum I am part of us. I get free info when I need help. Say its about fishing, or car trouble, or astronomy. Just about all of them have day jobs too. Seems about right.
Now, what I am saying is no one can really ever get a big website on their own. There comes a point, probably early on, where the support forums are not good enough to help them excel.

In reply to: The BBpress Support Forums Do Not Work…I think you are misunderstanding what I am saying, I understand a lot of people will feel a bit of a backlash from the post, just because they have put a lot of time into the forums.
I wont debate the above with you, but, if BBpress provides support, then where does one go for enhancements?
In reply to: Plugin for star rating on postThat really is not what I am looking for, I just want certain sub-forums to have them, then have the starts show up in the title of their forum post.
Probably needs some custom work.

In reply to: making forum roles bigger/betterI was more hoping to just add some ready made code that someone on another website would not mind handing out, but thank you.
In reply to: making forum roles bigger/betterOk, thank you.
In reply to: 2 issues "Freshness way off" – Need Help.bump
In reply to: making forum roles bigger/betterAlthough, would you or anyone else, know how to change the shading of the box for different forum roles?
In reply to: making forum roles bigger/betterok, Thank You!
In reply to: 2 issues "Freshness way off" – Need Help. This also seems to be connected (stays for a few seconds, then the site loads fine):
Fatal error: Cannot call overloaded function for non-object in /home/vaghar123/public_html/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 1498
In reply to: Fatal Error BBPRESS..P.S. I asked godaddy and they said it was a plugin error and had nothing to do with them…
In reply to: Fatal Error BBPRESS..well it keeps popping up every few hours for about a minute then going. It also seems to be messing up with the “freshness” tab (latest activity on our site). Does anyone know what plugin might be causing it?
In reply to: Fatal Error BBPRESS..ok, thank you, seems to have gone away so I will just ignore it for now.
In reply to: Lastest Activity wrongAhh I see, but whats weird about my forum is if you go to the topic and replies, it goes by date, not how long ago???
Can I change this?
In reply to: Plugin for star rating on postwhich one would you suggest?
Basically I want it to show up in only a few of my subforms next to the bb codes on top ^^^
In reply to: Splitting forum into two pages.hi Robin,
I just figured it out. check out the site astronomertalk.com then check astronomertalk.com/reviews, as you can see I there are two different forums but still connected.
What I did was create a category parent for the category and sub forums, then deleted the category parent leaving the category and sub forums with no parent so they did not show up in the whole forum list on the main page, then I posted them under astronomertalk.com/reviews.
^ Boom!
“The link astronomertalk.com/reviews. takes me to a login page” – Sorry I was playing around with it, now it should be good check it out,
Best,
JB
