Usually you have to do it all yourself. I know it is a lot of work, but think about it, if there were bots out there that could do it all for you, then woulden’t someone have already created the biggest forum in the world already and be making a ton of money?

I’m not saying they don’t exist, I am just saying it wont be your best option.

Hi Robkk,

I tried making an account, but its hard because I cannot log out. Making an account takes like 10 seconds though.

When I went to the backend to log out, and clicked it, heres what I got:

Ok, so your code solved moving the edit profile button to the far right, and removed it from the footer, yet all the above problems still remain.

Ok, let me be more clear.

#1, I want the edit profile button to appear in the far right of the menu, which would be the top right of the site.

#2, get the edit profile button out of the footer.

#3, The edit profile button does not like to anyones profile, it gets a 404 error.

#4, get the edit profile button to look more like this sites, like where its the username with their picture and a drop down menu appears when you hover over it.

if you think its social login , deactivate and see if robins profile link code works.

im sure its just positioning it with css , but hey it doesnt have to be floated right, not a big deal if it is or not.

So I just added the code from Robin W’s link,

I get the edit profile button for logged in users, however, it does not link to their profile. Could it be that I am using social login.?

Plus, I would prefer it to stay all the way to the right. Plus, preferably, look more like this sites, with the username and photo of the person logged in, in the top right.

Uhh?? Where did I loose you? … and where is stpehen Edgar?

I do not have a functions file in my child theme. I tried creating a blank file and calling it functions.php and the code just showed up on the top of my page. Then I tried just adding that code you gave me to the mesocolumn functions file and once again the code just screwed up and showed up at the top of my page under the admin bar.

So, once again, what should I do from here?

Ohh and there is no white space.

Hi Robkk,

The theme author is not very present in the support forum and it takes a long time to get answers. I like Robins idea, seems to make sense. Just need to fund out how to fix the error.

Ok, I have switched it back to my child theme and called it bbpress.php

I’ve also found that by doing it, the edit my profile button still goes to the backend, even for a user

What should I do next, I am a bit lost.

The only reason I would be a bit concerned to do it again is because my sidebar is fine for now, but if I switch it, then all my users would be confused for the few day while we figure it out. Also whats my source code?

Hi Stpephen,

So I followed the directions and took the template-full-width.php, and moved it to my new child theme called “awesome,” but it did not help. Now the forum specific sidebar is gone, plus when one clicks edit my profile it still brings them to the backend of the site.
