OK so I got lucky and remove the line of code in my config file and was able to get back into the directory location and move things back to the way they were.
Now I just need to give this to someone who knows what they are doing to move it where I want.

I tried that now I can see anything when I try to go to the page.
I am in way over my head and pulling my hair out. I’ve been working on this instead of my work stuff for the last three days and I’m getting incredibly frustrated by the whole experience.
Where is the best place to post a need for a programmer to do this for me?

Unfortunately not.
All I want to do is remove all the files in my forum directory and reinstall into a different directory.
If I can keep the content that is already in the database that would be a real bonus.
Is that easy enough?

I tried what I found at the bottom of https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/how-do-i-move-my-bbpress-location – changing the location in the general settings section and the first page comes up nicely but when I click on any links I get a 404 – Page not found error.

Mostly cosmetics.
– Removing the background
– Removing header (Don’t need login stuff as this is managed by Wishlist Member)
– Removing footer (Which I have already attempted to do)
– CSS updates so colours match my site

I’m not a programmer but am a pretty logical thinker and generally do a pretty good job of cut & pasting.
I looked around and found this – http://bbshowcase.org/forums/topic/easy-way-to-integrate-bbpress-wordpress-themes.
That helped with the footer.php content but I got nervous around the header.php content and got overwhelmed with the stylesheet.css file.
This is something I’d like to get done fairly quickly so I’m willing to pay to have it done.
