I was hoping that would be easy to find a solution. It is a bbpress feature after all.
Maybe I miss something but my setup is very simple:
WP 4.0.1
BP 2.1.1
bbPress 2.5.4
Theme Twentyfourteen
I receive every other email without any problem (e.g. buddy press mention emails). The problem only occurs with bbPress.
I am facing the same issue.
I left my setup using only
wp: 4.0.1
bbpress: 2.5.4
buddypress: 2.1.1
theme: twentyfourteen
I still can’t receive email notifications for my subscribed topics.
Any help would be appreciated 🙂
FYI, I get emails normally from buddypress mentions etc

My email address is correct and the problem occurs for every user of my community.
I read somewhere that maybe this is caused by Akismet option ” Allow Akismet to actively prevent forum spam” but even after disabling this option, the problem still occurs.
I really need to make this work.

Well one year later, do we have any progress. Is there anyway to change the permalinks via the interface (dashboard) or somehow ?
Still no luck here… We lose all the sharing potential in sharing topics via email/twitter etc because of this.
