I have been changing the role of several members but have not seen a change in behavior.
By default they are assigned Subscriber roles in the WP database. We are using 2.1.2 as a full plugin to our WP installation so bbpress uses the WP users DB right?
Ive also tried posting from one of the members after i upgraded them to admin role as a previous topic mentioned user profiles not working until a user had posted. No joy….
btw since my user names use facebook ids they are all numeric – any possibility that is causing the problem? this is typical for a user profile link:
Any solution to this?
I’ve seen a few other posts with simillar problems but there solutions are either not working or not appropriate due to the difference in bbpress versions.
I am having a similar problem. I am registering bbpress users based on their FB information which i get from our other site. These users have FB ids as their usernames for uniqueness. However their profiles throw a 404, while the admin profile works fine.

Will be interested in seeing if a solution is found to your issue….
Any solution to this yet?
I have a similar problem in my 2.1.1 bbpress install, no buddy press…..
In reply to: User pages and error-404Did you ever get a solution to this?
My admin’s user profile works correctly but all other users throw a 404.
http://www.s4ndb0x.com/forums/forum/issues/I am using bbpress 2.1.2, wp 3.4.1 and slightly modified twenty-ten theme.
In reply to: Automatically Logged in user does not persistok, found the solution to this one also.
I had to move the login sequence way up into the WP hierarchy. Seems that wp_signon does not well if its not run normally and too far into the display of your forum.
I’ve got it in wp-blog-header and it seems to work.Does anyone know if there is a better place to put this?
In reply to: Automatically Logged in user does not persistIs it possibly a server config issue?
I am also getting this error:Error: Are you sure you wanted to do that? New install, no bbpress files changed
and their fix was to move from a godaddy test server to a real domain…..
In reply to: Automatically Logged in user does not persistHi Lynq
Yes we have a link on our website that takes the user to our forum installed at
http://www.s4ndb0x.com/forums/forum/b3tz-issues/that link includes parameters to send a userid, password, email, first and last name. If the user is in the wordpress DB then we log them in. (if not we register them using insert_new_user) this all works and the user shows up as being logged in, they can reply to the current topic if they wish
The problem is that when they click on another topic bbpress does not see them as logged in any longer.
thanks
bryanIn reply to: Problems posting new topics in Internet Explorer 9Hi Marcus,
Have you found a solution to your problem?
We are having a “new post” problem but only with IE also. After clicking on new post a logged in user get the login panel again. This does not happen for all users and it only happens in IE browsers.bryan forst
In reply to: Single Sign On from non-WP siteok, never mind. The above code works, just the redirect needed some value, thought that blank would redirect to the home page….
