    Hi Robin;
    you’re absolutely right and I did it but

    1) I have a very complex environment (Buddy Groups, Private and public stuff …)

    2) I wanted to be certain of my results so as not to have to start the whole structure again in case of error

    3) finally make everyone benefit from this answer.

    So for me the sub-forums of a private forum are private by default (but, I will still mark them private jus in case)

    Note: I also think that it is information that could be added in the bbPress codex.

    Thank you for answering.

    Thanks for trying.

    The important thing is to know how it works after we adapt. But it’s true that the WordPress team could take this into consideration which would allow for many creative alternatives. A bit like when you create a child theme without touching the original.

    For the record.
    I found it but no idea at all where it came from.
    It was a style="display:none;" CSS inline declaration inside the generated code.
    Generated by what ? Don’t know.
    Anyway, I had to force the display with a display:inline-block; and !important tag to bypass it.

    Thanks Robin,

    I tried the method you mentioned first (as a hack) but the files located in plugins/bbpress were not taken into account at all. So I decided to change the main po/mo files.

    Nervermind as I know now how it works I will keep my “precious” translated files in a safe place.
