Okay, upon further testing, it does seem to be working with older posts–in certain circumstances.
Let me explain
If you simply type (or in the past typed) in a URL, this plugin adds “nofollow.” But if you write a sentence and add a link to the text, it doesn’t. You can see this in effect here:
Compare the two tests of a link to google. The first, where the URL is typed in, adds nofollow, the second, where the HTML is used to link out to google, doesn’t.
Please help me fix this? Thanks again, this is a huge help!
Thanks so much! It works beautifully.
I know it works on new posts, on URLs in the post.
Does it also work on URLS in old posts, when they’re viewed? I am not able to test that.
Also, it obviously doesn’t work on author’s website links (the ones saves in their user profile, I mean). How do we make those nofollow if we want to?
Many, many thanks. I am learning, but slowly.
Please–can you tell me specifically where to add this? What file and which lines? (Sorry, perpetual noob, trying to learn.)In reply to: Plugin – Private Messages
Okay, right now it is working–the
had been deleted from the .htaccess file
and so (I gather) none of the links were working from the topics titles listed.
I should add that I have a backup, but unless I figure out what went wrong, I won’t be able to upgrade. And it sounds like this was a necessary upgrade. In reply to: What is a bozo?
So what does Bozo: “1” mean? Do I need to remove this from user’s profiles? What setting makes people a Bozo?
I posted another comment here then decided it should be a new post
Thanks for the replies. I tried the default theme and replacing forum.php. They did not work. THEN I found that there was a “forum” folder inside the forum directory, containing a “bb-admin” file. I have no idea where it came from (maybe I was sloppy with Transmit?) but it looks like a serious case of user error.
Anyway, up and running once again
the .htaccess file is:
(That’s the entire file. I havebbpress sharing a database with wordpress.)
