How to stop Topic Creations allouw Replys

    Hi,

    i have a slight challenge on my learning site, My Courses have their own forums, so each course has it’s own forum, each lesson we have has it’s own topic created for it.

    AIM: to not allow NEW TOPICS to be created by members

    Allow member replys for topics already created by us

    several ways to achieve this, you can do it by creating different roles

    eg

    Custom Capabilities

    Hey thanks for your help,

    i just would like them course forums selected where : members cannot create topics but can reply to EXISTING TOPICS created

    As in the other forum i would like them to create topics and so ?

    ok I think you need my private groups plugin which allows you to set up groups, and then give users access to different forums, and using topic permissions have different access to different forums

    bbP toolkit has this feature too, if you do not want to use Robins plugin.

    Also if you don’t care in paying, or don’t know already the premium version of GD bbPress tools called GD bbPress Toolbox has this feature too.

    thasnks for the plugin it looks cool, but i just want to clarify i am doing things correctly, so i have forums and i have set them as open as seen in pics attached,

    and is this how i set up the toolkit,- as i want them forums selected to be closed forum so no new topics but replys can be created for existing topics.

    how would i correctly set this up ?
