I am using WP 4.3.1, BP 2.3.3 and Sweet date theme. If I activate the bbPress plugin my activity stream on the WP dashboard becomes empty. If I deactivate bbPress my activity stream appears again. Any suggestions what and where to look for to solve this ? Thank you in advance.

Are they activity Streams from BuddyPress? What are using for activity streams??

Yes these are activity streams from Buddypress like “New member registered”, “Updated profile”, “Posted a status update” and so on.
If only Buddypress is activated it shows up fine. It used to work with Akismet also, but since today even with Akismet it is not working 🙁

@Robkk: my apologies for not replying faster. I have been debugging intensively and have come to the conclusion that it must be a Buddypress issue and it is related to memory limits.
To answer your question: Anything beyond WP+BP+Sweetdate theme didn’t work. It now even became worse as it doesn’t work with WP+BP+2015 theme.
The error message produced on the WP activity stream dashboard page is:
“Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 7680 bytes) in xxx/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-functions.php(147) : runtime-created function on line 1”
My hosting provider Ipage has increased my memory limit to 256 MB but still giving the same error message. I have asked help on the Buddypress support forum but with no solution till date. Ipage is now suggesting to go to a VPS plan so I can have more memory allocated, but I fail to believe that only WP+BP+2015 theme needs to consume so much memory.
On the server I also get a lot of PHP error messages:
“PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in xxx/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-xprofile/classes/class-bp-xprofile-field-type-multiselectbox.php on line 126”
It seems unrelated but at this point I am not discarding anything.
If you have any suggestion, please let me know.
    Thanks.

my apologies for not replying faster.

    Its all good.

Since I see you do not have a VPS already when using BuddyPress, you may not have enough memory at all on your current plan.

Having VPS hosting or better is usually recommended if you are going to use BuddyPress. But I guess a small community should be able to handle something like shared hosting.

    Getting Started

As a test and since the error is related to the Activity component in BuddyPress, you can just try disabling the component in BuddyPress to see if the error disappears.

For the second error you are getting, hopefully you are not trying to edit the BuddyPress plugin and causing more issues.

You can also try reinstalling BuddyPress as a last resort to see if that would resolve any issues.
