How do I change those links in Admin? That is what I need help with. The links you gave both work from the Admin page.
This is an old thread – but I still have the same problem.
my admin>forums link: http://stratoliner.me/wp-admin/admin.php?page=edit.php?post_type=forum
Throws an error. It should be http://stratoliner.me/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=forum as varsitysmack mentioned above.
I really need to correct this – how can I change the link?
Thanks
Shep
You don’t get to change those links; they are created automatically by WordPress.
What version of WordPress are you using?
The latest version. I always keep everything updated.
What version of bbPress? And where are these incorrect links located? What plugins other than bbPress are you running?
Latest bbPress also and the broken links are in the left-side maim admin menu. I will need to get home to list plugins..
Thanks John..
I am assuming you are referring to my bbPress plugins?? They are:
bbPress2 BBCode
bbPress Admin Bar Addition (Had to do this to even have access to admin)
bbPress Moderation
bbPress New Topic Notifications
bbPress Post Toolbar
bbPress Quotes
bbP Signatures
Again, I appreciate your help.
You assumed wrong. That’s okay, because next you need to figure out which plugin isn’t working correctly by deactivating them one at a time and seeing which one stops the bad stuff from happening.
I have a hunch it’s the bbPress Admin Bar Addition one.
Ultimately, you just need to open the hood and start tinkering.
John – I went in and disabled plugins one-by-one to no av avail. Then I made a dumb mistake and deactivated ALL my plugind and now I can’t get back into the site. I had my forums set as the main page ;(
Can I use PHPMyAdmin to reset those or at least bbPress? If so – where?
Thanks again
It was a dumb mistake – but I thought I would post this if anyone is ever in my same spot.
This was very helpful:
http://perishablepress.com/quickly-disable-or-enable-all-wordpress-plugins-via-the-database/
However – since I had already turned all my plugins off I was out of luck for backing them up first!
What I did was phpmyadmin into one of my other sites running bbPress and copied its active_topics tab le contents – then pasted into the site that was not working. It was enough to get me back into admin and reactive my plugins.
Question of the day: Is your account actually an admin account?
Understandable question . Yes it is, and most all of the other admin links work fine.
