Hi BBpress.

First, all my posts about closing topics, never got answered by any. Please share!

I found a solution, so i share it.

You can let users close their topics for reply, remove their topics (trash) edit and so on. With bbpress 2.0.2 and User Role editor.

All new users are subscribers -> In User Role Editor mark these fields:

assign_topic_tags

delete_others_topics

delete_topic_tags

delete_topics

moderate

edit_replies

edit_topics

publish_replies

publish_topics

read

Now they are capable to do it! And they cannot /edit/delete/close other topics – only there own.

The “spam” field is still visible – But it is possible to remove it from the .php files somewhere (Notepad++ and Search all files does the magic of finding it!)

Yay! Ok, I tweaked your solution and got it.

First, I installed Justin Tadlock’s Members plugin.

Next, here are the roles that made it work for me, with the goal achieved of only having Edit and Trash options available.

(I removed “moderate” capabilities and added “edit_others_topics”)

And even though you’re giving them capability for other peoples topics, it still only lets them edit/delete their own. Yesssss!!!
