The Slickest BBPress Forum

  • @ronileco

Based on twentyten template with BBPress 2.0 with tons of customization, design and more then 2 months of hard work, I give you the on{X} forum.

Some of the key features including:

    1. Custom forum landing page.
    2. Custom subscribe button.
    3. Custom user page with unsubscribe.
    4. Voting.
    5. Custom editor.
    6. And much much more.

This shows that BBPress is a well rounded forum solution, capable of almost anything.

    Hope you like it,

    Roni.

You should add this to the codex showcase page.

    Hey Roni!
Awesome work. Can you please guide me regarding the insertion of Vote/Replies Boxes.
    Are these Plugins ?

    Sure thing.

The boxes are CSS and our own design but you can use the Vote It Up plugin for votes, although it hasn’t been updated in ages.

You’ll need to customise and theme it. BTW, we are using BBPress 2.0.2 and not the latest but it should work.

    Good Luck…

    Nice work @Ronileco.

One question: How did you make your reply editor include image uploads? Thanks.

In BBPress 2.0.2 version I had to integrate the native editor by myself but in the latest BBPress you can use any tinyMCE editor enhancer to change and customise the editor.
Take a look at those WordPress plugin: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tinymce-advanced/, https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ultimate-tinymce/

This will change all tinyMCE editors on the site, but you can create a dedicated editor for the forums comment.

Thanks @Ronelico. I will have a look at these 🙂

I ended up using tinyMce Advanced and it worked perfectly! Thanks for helping me out.

Since you’ve recommended the vote plugin, maybe this question is appropriate here.

I have a buddypress install and added bbpress via buddypress. Where do I have to add the code for the vote plugin? I know it’s in the single forum file, but I can’t find that in the standard buddypress theme.

I haven’t worked on BuddyPress and BBPress on BodyPress, so i can’t help you with that.
I’ll try to get someone to answer this :).
It is just a single php file, hope you can take the relevant parts and create a buddy press plugin.

Something wrong with your web page, because then I want to load another page on loading it blinks once.
