I was finally able to figure out what was wrong with my Magazine Basic Theme Integration. I was about to open my forums up to the public, when I noticed the column was too small

Try adding this to the end of your style.css or child theme custom css stylesheet:

body.bbPress .hentry {width:575px!important;}

td.bbp-reply-content {width:575px!important;}
