Secure Connection Failed

    Hi

Just uploaded the bbpress files to a folder I called /forum

went to mysite/forum/index.php and got this odd error report:

    Secure Connection Failed

‘mysite.co.uk’ uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is only valid for web34.secure-secure.co.uk

    (Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)

Im lost here – any ideas?

    Thanks

For some reason, the request is being redirected and ending up at a secure domain, but the cert there is wrong. You’re not going to be able to resolve the cert error, but you do need to resolve why your forum is redirecting to the wrong URL. Can you post the URL for your forum? Can you share anything else about your server setup.

The domain is http://www.probationer.co.uk, what info do you require about the server? I set it up through my own hosting reseller account. It run with php4 but 5 is available.

I take it that it shouldn’t need any ssl certificate to run. I checked with my own support regarding the server and there are no known problems.

I will delete the files and re-uploaded it to see if I get the same result. I hadn’t entered any database details as I think its the same as the WP set page, if I have the instructions right. there is no config file in the directory yet so it isn’t a mismatched database.

    Very odd error!

Same result on a fresh upload.

Maybe it’s a problem with www domain vs. non-www domain? I was redirected to this URL when I clicked your link.

Right now, your installation is in progress here:

    http://probationer.co.uk/forum/bb-admin/install.php

    Are you still having troubles?

    Well I’ll be damned!

No, all is working now (well the install is showing). This was a blundering error on my part I was in the wrong folder for the install somehow had not realised.

Sorry for the fuss and thanks for the help. Still was a bit odd asking for a SSL cert that isn’t configured, even if it was the wrong file – never seen that before.
