I have posted this before, but I still can’t get this to work. I have threaded replies enabled, but my replies are not indenting. To determine if it was an issue with my theme, I created a brand new WordPress test site and tried all of the included test themes and indenting does not work on any of them. The only plugins I have are bbpress and the bbpress style pack. What am I missing?

The problem isn’t with the replies jumping, it’s that they are not indenting. However, I did try that and it doesn’t work.

My live site with a 3rd party theme is not public. The test site I have is just running locally in a docker container. It is a fresh install using the built-in themes.

ok, at the moment you are phoning your garage and telling them your car won’t start. They ask to see it, and you say ‘sorry you can’t – but it’s a Ford, and other people have Fords and they start, so why won’t mine?’ I can’t answer without seeing the site – sorry 🙂

That’s why I said it is a fresh install. Literally…installed WordPress, bbpress, created a forum and it doesn’t work.

that just shows a topic and the initial reply. Threaded/indented replies don’t start until you reply to a specific reply – that’s how you know which belong to which

That doesn’t make sense to me. Every forum I have ever used indents replies to the original topic too…so you know it’s a reply. Thank you for the explanation.
