Does anyone know if you are allowed to modify this theme? For example, if I just wanted to change the colors, is that ok?

Where did you get the theme and what license did it come with? Is there a readme.txt file or anything like that?

The theme is GPL v2.0 licensed, so you’re free to do with it what you want.
