Does bbpress support the creation of public (no need to login) forums?

so10 did some work on anonymous posting for core a while back. But it was never 100% completed or perhaps never 100% tested. I’m not sure.

For spam control/moderation, perhaps it tied in more tightly with Akismet. WordPress blogs allows anonymous commenting this way.
