Just wanted to make a suggestion based off a discovery I made today. Apparently if you have a forum set to private, lets call it “members only,” then you make a link on your website pointing to the “members only” forum, if non-logged-in users click on the link it will shoot them a page not found error.

My idea to improve this would be to have non-logged-in users forwarded to the login page in these instances. Much like what the user access plugins that make certain pages private do. As it stands users who are not logged in (perhaps as well as google) would assume that this is a broken link when it is actually not…it’s just private.
