Hello all,

I tried all the installation steps correctly,but still couldn’t get permalinks working.I am using bbpress version 1.0.2 PHP 5.3.0 and server software value is also set to Apache as expected.

It shows error: Oops! This link appears to be broken.

on clicking any forum/topic.

Please help !

Also, if you turn off permalinks, does your bbPress installation work?

If I turn off permalinks its works fine.Problem arises only when I turn on name based permalinks.

Try to post a link on your site. May be the php versions will have some problems to run.

It looks like your server software is “Server: YTS/1.17.13”, which is “Yahoo Traffic Server” and my experience is that it does not support .htaccess or permalinks. Your options are to live without permalinks or get a new hosting company.

If anyone else has information to the contrary, please post it.

Good catch Chris,

Yahoo Traffic Server doesn’t use .htaccess files.

Though that might change in the future after Yahoo donated TS to the Apache Foundation, though they still have the source code in-house.

As I recall though, YTS has quite an extensive plugin library, and so there might (probably?) be an alternative method out there. It’s beyond me though.
