Scratch that!
So I have all the topics and whilst they appear to be listed against the correct forum, they aren’t appearing.
What’s the best ‘reset’ way to fix this??
See screenshot, topics and replies exist, why aren’t they being shown here?
start with
dashboard>tools>forums>repair forums an run one at a time
Did that, now all counts are zero… previously all the counts on this page were correct (comparing to where I imported them from), but clicking through gave you the screenshot I shared above.
Clicking through to a forum gives me the same ‘Oh, bother! No topics were found here.’ message but all topics are no longer correctly linked to a forum?

Previously, the Forum column was correct, now shows “-” as per screenshot

OK.
Did full reset. Re-imported Forums, then Topics, then Replies.

So far so good.
But clicking into any of the forums, and “Oh, bother! No topics were found here.”
I’ve made them all public too and doesn’t make a difference.
I’m stumped!
Ahah! I think I’ve cracked it.
I’m building a new site, while the current one is still live and to do that I’m using a temp staging area, which has a different URL from the live site (obviously).
Importing the XML from the current site to the new one… that XML has the ‘live’ URL whereas the staging area has a different URL so I’m guessing the data in the database is confused by this.
Trouble is, I can’t confirm until I push the new site live but, can’t see any other reason this is happening?!
Anyone got any thoughts?
sounds a reasonable explanation, but can’t say for sure
Yeah – have emailed you too, thanks for your help.
