1) I have just set up the bbpress plugin. When users register they don’t receive emails with passwords.
2) Is there an easy way to allow new users to choose the password they like?

1) have you set up your email address in dashboard>settings>general?

2) If registration is automatic, then they’ll be sent a password. They can change this in their bbpress profile – they can just click on their avatar, or you can add this to wdigets or the menu – see

I received the email after one hour, my friend hasn’t received it after 48 hours. Is it normal?

Regardsing the 2) I mean to set the password on registration to avoid this long waiting because I will find a long list of inactive accounts because users have never received the email or received it too late.

Mine come within seconds/minutes. It will depend to some extent on your host provider, but I would contact them in any case to check that you have everything set up right in the host part.
