New Users Can’t Post

I’m sure this has to be an oversight on my part…but for the life of me I can’t figure out why new users can’t respond to admin posts.

As an admin, I can post anything. Users appear to be able to reply, but when they hit submit it reloads and no new posts?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I should note, I do allow registrations via WordPress….so that shouldn’t be the problem

I left the defaults for user permissions as well.

so can users respond to non admin posts?

    Thank you for the response.

No, non-admin member cannot respond. ONLY the admin can post on the forum.

Now I can’t post as an admin either?

Really odd. We’re using the latest WP/plugins.

It could be a theme or plugin issue

    Plugins

Deactivate all but bbpress and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.

    Themes

If plugins don’t pinpoint the problem, as a test switch to a default theme such as twentyfifteen, and see if this fixes.

    Then come back

    Hello,

The problem is with Askimet. I thought it was supposed to work with BBpress? I see the option in the settings to allow them to work together.

so with just askimet and bbpress on a vanilla theme you have a problem?

    That’s correct

    hmmm…. I’d try reinstalling either/both

lol….didn’t think that would do much but you nailed it.

Re-installed Askimet and it appears to be working now.

    Thanks!!

    Hello,

Problem is back. People are registering but nobody is posting, so I created a fictitious account and every post attempt “appears” to be working but when it refreshes NOTHING.

    So frustrating

I’m trying a plugin called Gator Cache to speed up the site since I can’t find another caching plugin that works with bbpress.

    FYI

    Hello,

I want to share my experience and some troubleshooting steps that I have to learn from bbPress so can you suggest me that can I upload the post on your forum or not.
