Limit posting to certian forums

    Hi fellow bbPressers!

    I’m wondering whether it’s possible to prevent members from posting to a certain forum.

    For example, I would like only Key masters, Admins, and Moderators to be able to post in forum ID-1. So “members” wouldn’t be able to post there. The remainder of the forums would be open to everyone.

    Is this possible? If so, how?

    This plugin used to work just like that for 0.9 I believe:

    I haven’t tested it out yet, but it looks like that plugin will hide forums from members. I want regular “members” to be able to see the forum and read and reply to it but not be able to start their own topics.

    Does that make sense?

    As a followup, that plugin doesn’t really do exactly what I’m looking for.

    The hidden forums plugin actually blocks viewers from viewing a forum. But what I’m looking to do is prevent non-moderators from starting new topics in a specific forum.

    They would still be able to post replies, just not start new topics. I’d greatly appreciate any help.

    There was a plugin called Read Only forums too, which would do what you want I think:

    That was good for up to 0.9 as well. Might need modification to work with 1.0.
