The topic title explains enough I think, but is is possible to combine a bbpress forum with a Magento website? Or do I need to have 2 hosts and put a link on the website which links to the forum?

bbpress only works on wordpress, so no your can’t directly run it on Magento, so yes a link would do it.

Yes, I would agree that you would need to create a link or Install WordPress setup in Magento as explained in the article: https://www.cloudways.com/blog/integrate-wordpress-blog-magento/
