When I try to activate Akismet in my site admin>plugins panel I get this error:

Plugin could not be activated; it produced a Fatal Error.

But then I notice that there IS an Akismet Spam tab in my content panel–and it’s blocking posts from normal users and marking people as Bozos. What the heck? Am I doing something wrong or is Akismet incompatible with the latest release? Ahhh! Frustrating!

The plugin you uploaded to /my-plugins/ is really only the one for WordPress! Akismet is built into bbPress is activated by you putting your Akismet API key into your config.php. If you edit that file, you will see the space to put it in! You can remove the plugin as you need not upload or install anything else….just edit config.php
