After a new import/conversion form IPB imported users cannot log in. If they try, the page redirects to /wp-login.php but then halts with a white page.

I can find those users in the Users section, change their roles, but logging in stays impossible. No problems with newly created users. No problems with admins logging in.

But even when changing roles with imported users (even to admin): they cannot log in. Can anyone tell me what could be going wrong here?

In addition to the my question above:

It seems that I can log in with my mailadress instead of my username. I saw that the BBpress plugin has not been tested with WP version 4.8.2. Could this be the issue here?

It’s clear now. It’s a BBpress issue.
When I disable the BBpress plugin, logging in is no problem anymore for the imported users.

So BBpress 2.6 RC3 is not compatible with WP 4.8.2.
