If you have buddypress, it’s a buddypress feature, so probably their support forum first
@carasse64, I use bbPress with BuddyPress too and I have never seen @name “completion” on my site. I don’t think it’s actually a feature of BuddyPress (or the bbPress/Buddypress combination), although I’ve seen it on some other types of forums. So I would not expect to see that list. Of course I could be wrong.
(Sorry to continue the BP discussion here 🙂
Thank you @mike80222. I have read an old topic on this forum where someone had created with feature with lines of code. I have to find it again 🙂

@mike80222 – your input is always welcome and useful 🙂
Just looked and I created a small plugin here http://www.rewweb.co.uk/download/bbp-mentions-suggest/
this says that it ‘Adds the Buddypress mentions suggest as you type to bbpress topics and replies’
so I got the idea from somewhere that it was a bp feature.
It was sometime ago that I wrote/copied this, so have no memory of whether it still works !
Il gonna try it ans let you know if it Works.
thanks – I don’t promise to do anything if it doesn’t – but would be useful to know
I’ll be interested to hear what happens too!
I tried it on a test site just now. I didn’t do any extensive testing, but does appear to work!
I wish I could claim some credit – it was some code I found somewhere !
From looking at the code, I’m presuming that bp has that functionality somewhere else – this just seems to add it for topics/replies.
> I’m presuming that bp has that functionality somewhere …
Yeah, that must be the case.
I just have installed it and it seems to work perfectly 🙂
I’ll let you know if I experience issues with this cool plugin.
Just tried it but nothing happens when typing @”
Are you running buddypress as well ?
that will be why it doesn’t work
ok i thought it was working with bbpress only 🙂
no it adds the buddypress feature to bbpress
ok i see
this feature would be interesting for bbpress alone
it would but far too much work to create
ok i see, and also i fear it might slow down the forums
