How to restrict viewing of members and the directory?

My members wish to be private, and cannot be seen by public.
The page domain.com/members is a big problem as I cannot restrict it even with plugins like WP-Members and Role Scoper.

I am able to set the page Members to private, but public will still be able to access it.
There is definitely a way to do this right? Members not shown to public and only to logged in members

Can they restrict their own visibility as well? User information is very sensitive nowadays. We have to make everything hidden, and have to accept showing, not the other way round nowadays.

I agree this restriction is very important. I would like to take it one step further and have restriction until WangGuard clears for “sploggers”. One reason why spam registration is so consistent, even though I have only 1-2 a day is because sploggers can look at the members info.

I really need this feature too. Anyone figure out how to block the members directory from public view and possibly “subscriber role”? Thanks

BP Registration plug-in did the trick for me 🙂
