How to combine forum tags with site tags?

Hello
I’d like to combine forum and rest of the page, so that way people would see articles and topics from the forum. Unfortunately url /tag/forum-tag/ is showing 404.php file. Is there an easy way to do that? Or do I have to hack template_redirect and force status_header( 200 ) + $wp_query->queried_object = $my_override ?
