I would like to ask – is there any function that returns the current forum description. By “forum description”, I mean the string that you can specify in WordPress GUI when creating new forum.

Yep!

• bbp_get_forum_content( $forum_id ); to return
• bbp_forum_content( $forum_id ); to echo
