how do i get the forum categories from the right side bar into the centre of the page?

How did you get them into the sidebar in the first place? Was that intentional? Who created this theme for you, or where did you get it?

It’s probably a div in the wrong place, an unclosed div or an extra ending div.

I think you should check with Pagelines support. As a paying customer, I believe you have access to their support forum.
