Forum Participants can't edit their profiles
-
Since upgrading WP (3.4.1) my forum users can’t edit their profiles. They get “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page”. bbPress is version 2.0.3. I’ve got the Simple Local Avatars plugin installed and have tried deactivating that but it made no difference. That’s really it, nothing changed except the WP upgrade. It’s a bit of a pain because my users like changing their avatars frequently.

Solution! Install ‘User Role Editor’ and set ‘read’ for Forum Participants. Thanks farinspace and Themes Support https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/forum-participant-profile-page-when-logged-in This felt like a bug to me, either in bbPress or some other thing, so I created a ticket and fixed it right away for bbPress 2.1. https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/1887 Users with accounts should almost always have the ‘read’ capability. If they lost it somehow, it seems like it’s because something interfered with it. just a feedback, i still get “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page” i’m using bbpress 2.1.2 I have also been getting reports of this happening: http://www.inklestudios.com/forums/topic/unable-to-edit-my-own-profile Oddly enough though, when I created a test account, it worked fine. Any thoughts? Love bbpress by the way! Just looking forward to getting the teething problems out of the way 🙂 I installed ‘User Role Editor’ and changed the subscribers role to include ‘delete_replies’, which gave my subscriber a link to edit his post/reply.
