Is the forum’s assigned a Page designation? I went under Pages in admin and could not find it. (I need to set up custom sidebars for the forum but I am currently unable to do that if the forum is not assigned a page of it’s own.)

I tried created a page with the same slug as the forum but it disappears the forum…

Inside your wordpress do you have an extras folder? Then inside there, there is a page-front-forums.php you can edit this to try and achieve what you want.
