Forum Dissapeared and 404ing – But Still In WP Back End????

  • @wleighton

My forum has randomly dissapeared and is 404’ing.

It worked fine, created categories, forums and threads etc… and it functioned just fine. And then now, without making any changes, it randomly 404’s and doesnt exist on my site anymore, even though it is there in the WP back end. It simply cant find it.

Even when I click on each individual forum/section in the back end, and click the “VIEW” button to visit that forum, it takes me to the link but its a 404 page and cant find it.

How is it all still there in the back end? But no where to be found, and so randomly? It literally worked great, then woke up the next day and I have problems.

    Any help?

    Cheers,

    Will

(All the links above were functioning and displaying what they should just fine…and now dont)

For some reason now they either 404, or simply appear with a forum/section title but none of the forum.

Did you set the permalinks? If so, try to re-save them.

    How do I do that?

    I had the same problem.

go to settings -> permalinks -> choose ‘Post name under’ common settings and save. hope it works.

btw, what theme are you using for your website?

This is what happened to me… it my help someone else.

I deactivated all of my plugins by accident trying to hunt down a piece of code inside a custom plugin.

This caused my forum to disappear and continually 404, although everything was still there.

By changing my Permalinks and then changing them back to what they were originally this issue is fixed.

Good luck to anyone who reads this!

Settings > Permalinks > Save (Try just saving first, if that doesn’t work, then change them, save them and then change them and save them again).

Thank you for your tip. That solved the problem for me.
