Error with my custom theme

    Hi everyone.

I recently made a theme for a client and this is the first time I’ve included bbpress. Bbpress works with the default themes, but not for my custom theme and I can’t seem to find any documentation around to fix this – I’m getting the “Error: Are you sure you want to do this?” message.

Is there a theme support option I need to enable or something?

    Regards,

    Aaron.

    Hi,
That is a WordPress issue, not a specific bbPress issue. In most of the cases it is because WordPress checks for Nonce in an admin url and the check fails. You will have to search in that way.

I don’t really know that much of it, but look at the URL you have when you see that message. Probably you have an ‘action’ variable that has no or an incorrect ‘_wpnonce’.
AN example of a correct url : https://www.elegantthemes.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/WordPress-Nonces-nonces-in-url.png

The URL does not change from “forums/forum/another-placeholder/” where “Another Placeholder” is the name of the forum.

To also clarify, this is when trying to add any content from the “front end”.

I’m not sure how that is relevant with my theme, surely the plugin is handling the nonce? What does my theme have to include?

If you are not doing any special things in your plugin, then in most of the cases it’s a plugin that is trying to do some ‘illegal’ stuff.
Please try to deactivate all plugins except bbPress and try.
    Sorry for keeping you going…

With no plugins activated, and my theme activated it doesn’t work. Enable a default theme and it works – definitely theme related

Then I’m out of options, sorry 🙁
