Create a Topic from a comment of another topic

I currently setup a Q&A forum and I have certain users hijacking others questions. What I would like to do is when another user asks an unrelated question in a topic to be able to create or move that comment or question to a Topic all by itself.

    Topic 1 = question 1
    comment 1 = answer 1
comment 2 = question 2 (this should be another topic)

    Any help highly appreciated

You should see (moderators & admins) an option on the replies to ‘split’ and that will move that reply (and any after that reply) to a new topic.

Hi Stephen, thank you for your answer.

The problem is I want to keep that old topic active in case someone wants to add to the opening post.

I have been manually creating a new topic, pasting the new question, publishing and then editing it again to be able to change the author ID to the original author.

    Very tedious…

It will keep the existing topic open for new replies, it just moves the reply that is ‘off topic’ to a new topic.
