Close sub-forum but allow replies in topics

Hi there, I’m trying to restrict the ability to post new topics in a specific forum/sub-forum but when I make ‘Status: Closed’ it remove the ability for people to post replies to the already ‘Opened’ topics in that specific forum/sub-forum.
Is there a way to allow replies to topics that are opened that are inside a closed forum/subforum?
