Changing “forums” page layout

    Hi,

    The /forums page is probably the standard generated one.
    Just create a standard WordPress page in your /wp-admin and give it the /forums slug.
    This page will overwrite the generated one.

    That did not work. I still have the wrong widget showing up. The added page is displaying – I know because I added some text to test it, and even though I change the sidebar to the one I want the incorrect one is still showing up. I even tried to remove it and make the page full width and that did not work – the wrong sidebar is still there. Sure hope someone can help me solve this.

    Just found the same is true on the topic page.

    Found out the problem – the forum was defaulting to “sidebar 1” so I set that up in the correct format and now it appears correctly. I could not find anyway to override this defaulting to that sidebar. Interested to know if others have seen this problem.
