I’m using the newest version of bbpress. Today I wanted to change some topic names, but there is no more link to that in the backend. Tried to reach the site for editing through the main dashboard page (where the number of posts, forums, topics etc. is listed). but a error-message shows up (it says something like “cheating?!”). it’s not possible that i don’t have any permission for that since i’m an administrator. what to do??

Yep, I’m having the same problem. The forums seem to be working fine on the front-end, so I didn’t notice this until I tried to create a new forum today.

Download User Role Editor – Visit that settings page and reset all Roles.

I tried using the User Role Editor and resetting all roles, but no luck. Still no menus. If I click on the bbPress dashboard widget, I get a “Cheatin’ uh?” message.

Here’s the solution:

Once I went to Settings / Forums / and ticked the check box:

“Automatically assign default role to new, registered users upon visiting the site.”

then saved, the ‘Forums’, ‘Topics’, and ‘Replies’ admin menus showed up.
