can’t create sub-pages under “Forum” parent page

    @monica44

    Hi All,

    My site is http://www.buyineastvale.com

I am using the latest version of WordPress.

I downloaded the bbPress plugin to use for my site’s forum.

Now I want to add a page of Forum FAQ’s as a sub-page underneath the “Forum” parent page.

However, when I create a new page on my site’s back end and then designate the “Forum” page as its parent page and upload it, that page on my site then gives me a message on the front end when clicking on it that says “Sorry, no such page. It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching, or one of the links below, can help.”

For the sake of this example, I created a page called “My Name Is” and assigned its location as a sub-page (with “Forum” being its parent page on the back end). And when clicking on the “My Name Is” page on the front end, I get the same “Sorry, no such page” message.

This leads me to believe it is an issue with bbPress (and not my theme, which is Weaver Xtreme).

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thank you SO MUCH in advance!

hmmm. not really sure exactly what you are trying to do.

How did you create your forum page?

I created a new page, and put the following short code on it:

    [bbp-forum-index]

Then I uploaded it to the front end of my site.

Now when I try to put any type of new page under the Forum parent page, it uploads but then it gives me the “sorry this cannot be found” message if I click on the new sub-page on the front end…

ok, bbpress use pages slightly differently.

Are you trying to get the sub page to show in the menu?

Yes, I do want it to show in the menu (but as a sub-page to “Forum”).

Right now there is a page called “My Name Is” that has nothing on it, but was created as a sub-page under the parent page “Forum.” When you go on the front end of the site and bring up the “My Name Is” sub-page under the Forum parent page and then click on the “My Name Is” page, it will take you to the page but then give you the “sorry this could not be found” message.

    I hope I am making sense! 🙂

You are, but I suspect that you’ll need to move to manual menu’s to make it work

    go to

appearance>menus and create a menu there

    I apologize, I am such a newbie at this…

What does a custom menu do?
