can’t add a new forum or edit forum after install

Hi,
for some reson i am not authorized to add or enit forums.
needless to say that i am the website administrator..
I only added the addon throgh wordress’s menu and tryed to play with it.
Is there any thing i might missed in the installing process?
or is there any first use settings to define?
