What happens if you resave your permalinks? Go to Settings > Permalinks
A more common and now default of WordPress is to use the Post name format, also known as pretty permalinks, as such the following would be what you’d see for the “maine” forum

Thanks very much for your reply. I went into settings and switched to the post name format, but I’m still getting blank pages, for example:

I didn’t see a “refresh” option in there for permalinks — just the option to select different types of permalinks. Did I miss something? Or is there anything else I can try?
Any change you also changed your theme recently or an update as also installed?
What happens if you switch your theme to one of the included themes? Twenty Fourteen or Fifteen?
Thank you very much. I tried deactivating and then activating all the plugins I was using. I think it was caused by bbpress WP tweaks, which I wasn’t even really using anyway, so I just turned it off, and now my forums are back. I guess I should have thought about toggling all the plugins off/on to see if one was the culprit. Thank you for your time.
