We have a site that is running bbPress which is hosted on Windows Server 2012 with PHP 5.6.
We experience a delay when navigating the forums, usually about a 3 to 5 second delay for each page change. Is this to be expected when running bbPress on Windows? Would Apache on FreeBSD give us any increase in performance?

It’s never an easy answer, but it’s not the operating system that will make the difference, but much more the hardware and how your OS is configured that matters.
